Abstract

Abstract The interaction of random strain with domains is responsible for large variations of sound velocities (Δ E effect) and for acoustic anharmonicity in tetragonal SrTiO 3. It also accounts for amplitude-dependent damping and r.f. conductance. All effects depend on sample history.
