Electron spin echo decays of nitroxide solutions adsorbed on zeolites

Abstract

Abstract The echo decays of D 2O solutions of a positively charged nitroxide radical adsorbed on X- and Y-zeolites are analyzed both for two-pulse and three-pulse sequences. A best-fit simulation procedure is used to obtain data concerning the concentration of adsorbed spins and their reorientational times. The results obtained show noticeable differences depending on the kind of zeolite; limits on the adsorption capacity are also found, that are not linearly dependent on the concentration of the initial solutions. The time-behavior of the spins appears to be determined by the rotation of methyl groups of the radical.
