Abstract

Abstract Eight new species of Middle Devonian (Eifelian) rugose corals are described from northern Shan State. Of these, two are from the Padaukpin biostrome: Phacellophyllum padaukpinensis sp. nov. and Phillipsastrea hlawaii sp. nov., six are from the Maymyo Formation: Peripaedium winwinkyiae sp. nov., Peripaedium gigantium sp. nov., Pterorrhiza eifelina sp. nov., Dohmophyllum shanensis sp. nov., Temnophyllum creber sp. nov., and Puanophyllum myanmarium sp. nov. The genera Phacellophyllum, Peripaedium, Pterorrhiza, Dohmophyllum, Temnophyllum and Puanophyllum are reported for the first time from Myanmar. Some of the Myanmar forms closely resemble species from the Eifelian of southwest China and eastern Australia.
