Abstract

Abstract The ultraviolet photoemission spectrum of a layered-perovskite superconductor Sr 2RuO 4 around the Fermi level is considerably different from the density of states obtained by a band calculation based on the local density approximation. Although the significant spectral weight redistribution is considered to be evidence of the large electron correlation in this system, the effective mass is not so enhanced. A possible scenario to coordinate both these phenomena is discussed.
