Abstract

Abstract The data of Phu Sy Uy et al. are shown to be incompatible with previous studies of water adsorption and with physisorption in general. It is suggested that extensive electron beam damage to the adlayer may have resulted in the formation of OH species which are known to give rise to relatively high temperature water peaks in thermal desorption experiments.
