Distinction of different types of pinning centers in metallic glasses

Abstract

Abstract Hysteresis loops of Fe x Ni 80− x B 18Si 2 ( x = 20, 40, 60, 70) and Co 70.3 Fe 4.7 Si 15 B 10 amorphous alloy ribbons have been measured at room temperature using an induction method. Different dependences of coercive force H c on maximum magnetization M m reached at a particular field have been obtained in different regions of M m. This indicates that a particular type of pinning center probably dominates the hysteresis loop in each particular region of M m. This hypothesis is discussed in terms of a well-known model of magnetization. Observed phenomena have shown good agreement with the model.
