Abstract

Abstract The uptake of 3H glycine by the posterior silk gland of the silkworm, Bombyx mori, incubated in vitro, has been studied in various conditions. The incorporation with age into proteins varies with the medium composition. The amino acid concentration and that of glycine are two important factors. The exogenous glycine remaining in the amino acid soluble pool depends only upon the external glycine concentration.
