Abstract

Abstract Growth is an effect, not a cause, of a company's success. But growth has been accepted for so long as a corporate good that it is difficult for firms to know how to measure their success in a no- or low-growth economy. It's time to re-examine the doctrine that growth is good for its own sake and return to the essential corporate objective: finding a need and filling it.
