Abstract

Abstract From experimental data on impedance, IR, Raman and nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy it is shown that each lithium ion moves by “classical” hopping in Li 3Sc 2(PO 4) 3 superionic crystals, i.e. the residence time τ ar is much greater than the time τ r of flight. At the same time the charge transfer in the compound can be “effectively” described as the motion of Li-Li ion pairs with an intrapair ion distance equal to approximately the sum of the lithium ion radii.
