Abstract

Abstract The photoion—fluorescence photon coincidence method (PIFCO) has been used to discover hitherto unknown emissions from the molecular ion SnCl + 4 and from dissociative ionization of O 2, CO 2, N 2O, CS 2, SO 2, CF 3CN, CH 3SCN, Fe(CO) 5 and GeCl 4. The yields of these emissions are determined and upper limits are set on the yields of emission from ions of twenty other compounds at various wavelengths.
