Abstract

Abstract The interaction between host singlet excitons and guest triplet states was studied in pyrene-doped fluoranthene crystals at 77°K. The annihilation process was found to be characterised by a rate constant γ ST = (3 ±2) × 10 -12 cm 3 sec −1. The process is interpreted in terms of exciton diffusion and energy transfer via the Förster mechanism.
