Abstract

Abstract 1. 1|The response of toads to a stimulus prey moving at constant velocity was tested at a variety of test and acclimation tempertures. 2. 2|Test temperature over the range from 13 to 23°C did not alter feeding performance. 3. 3|Cold acclimation caused a marked and rapid decrease in feeding performance. The response was reversed upon warm acclimation. 4. 4|The decrease in feeding performance during cold acclimation was independent of photoperiod. Short photoperiod did not alter feeding performance.
