Abstract

Abstract Sound transmission via linear sound bridges linking the panel edges of a double partition has been investigated by both theoretical and experimental means. There are equations for calculating the airborne sound insulation of a double partition consisting of identical panels provided that only the edge sound transmission exists. Airborne transmission loss of various double partitions both with and without linear edge links connecting panel edges have been measured. The results achieved show the effectiveness of various methods of decreasing the edge sound transmission.
