Abstract

Abstract A large scale prototype of a liquid argon accordion calorimeter, conceived as a sector of a full LHC Barrel detector and consisting of an electromagnetic and a hadronic section, has been constructed and tested at the CERN SPS with electron and pion beams in the energy range 10–287 GeV.
