Abstract

Abstract Some measurements on 14 MeV neutron beams defined by a number of different collimator designs are discussed. It is shown that the differences produced in the beam definition, under scattering conditions, are fairly small, and limited in their effect by the presence of a large component of scattered radiation outside the main beam, in a phantom. A high proportion of the scattered radiation is gamma-rays.
