Record level- Consists of 202 images from a Glen Canyon/Lake Powell trip taken by Tad and Mary Jane Nichols, Rosalind Johnson, and Abby Quinlin in May and June of 1964. Among the 63 digitized prints, slides, and color transparencies are scenes of boating, camping, hiking, and outdoor cooking. Sites include California Bar, Gregory Bridge, West Canyon, Cathedral of the Desert, Clear Creek, Escalante, Hidden Passage, Halls Crossing, Annie's Canyon, and Forgotten Canyon, among others. There are views of Tad's jeep and his StarCraft boat; of abandoned mining equipment; of stone walls from an old dwelling; of a solitary gravestone; of camping gear, canned goods, and liquor bottles; of a small hawk in someone's hands; of geological features such as cross-bedding and other sedimentary structures in the sandstone; and of cliff-dwellings and pictographs. Besides Tad, Mary Jane, Roz, and Abby, other people shown are Frank Wright, Art Chaffin, Frank and Ethel Barrett, and Mrs. Woody Edgell. Among the images that have not been digitized are scenes of Hite Ferry, an old telephone at Art Chaffin's store, an airplane and aerial shots of Glen, the Moqui [or Moki] steps and petroglyphs, and the marina at Wahweap. Pictures of the women swimming, of campfires, of caves, of Chaffin's artifact collection, and of the camp near Kane Creek were also not digitized. However, whether online or not, all images from this group are available for viewing at Cline Library Special Collections and Archives Department. [The pictures with the following numbers appear in Tad's Glen Canyon book: NAU.PH. on page 28; .33.45 and .33.46 on page 56; .33.57 on page 57; and 33.65 on page 59.]
