Efficient tunnel kiln for baking roof tiles

Publication Date

A company producing roof tiles, Kleiwarenfabriek Gebr. Laumans of the Netherlands, has invested in a new, hermetically sealed tunnel kiln. Heat losses are reduced dramatically by the sealing system which significantly reduces cold air leaking into the firing zone. Transmission heat losses through the walls and the cover of the kiln are also reduced by changing the internal steel support construction. The total energy saving amount to approximately 30% of the energy consumption of a comparable conventional kiln
