Abstract

Abstract From the study of the kinematic properties of final states produced in b-decays, the inclusive charmless radiative and semileptonic branching ratios of b-hadrons have been measured. Using all the statistics recorded by the ALEPH detector at the Z pole between 1991 and 1995, one gets: Br(b → X sγ) = (3.3 ± 0.7 stat ± 0.7 syst) × 10 −4 and Br(b → X u ℓ ν ℓ) = (1.6 ± 0.5 stat ± 0.5 syst) × 10 −3 where b is a mixture of B +, B d 0 and Λ b weighted by their production rates at LEP. The last measurement yields the result: |V ub| = (4.1 ± 0.5 stat ± 0.6 syst ± 0.1 theory) × 10 −3.
