Abstract

Abstract The transient response of midgap photoinduced absorption in a-Si:H to pulsed optical excitation is studied as a function of time (300ns-30ms) and sample temperature (10K-220K) using probe wavelengths ranging from 0.75 to 5.5 μm. Calculations involving hopping in exponential bandtails are summarized and used to describe the experimental results.
