Abstract

Abstract The present status of the high magnetic fields facilities in the world is reviewed. It appears that experiments can now bemade in several places with continuous fields as high as 30 T using hybrid magnets. It is likely that some more d.c. teslas will be achieved in the near future but fields higher than 40 T are still belonging to the realm of pulsed magnets. Finally, the need for advanced supplementary equipments around the magnets is mentionned.
