Martunyk Kyiv CREATIVITY OF LEONID CHELNOKOV AS AN EXAMPLE FOR MAJOR TRENDS SOVIET PACKAGING DESIGN OF THE SECOND HALF OF THE TWENTIETH CENTURY In the Soviet Union there was a state system of art design, which paid great attention to scientific research, information and advocacy activities.This time desigin was in the ideological politics. In terms of economics of the Soviet period,the issue of packaging is not included in the range of scientific and theoretical issues,amd not raise artistic interest. To packs design an artists treated as a service.But during the intensive development of the national artistic design in the 60 years design began to conteins the package.In time of socialism in the USSR the package have its style called socialist realism. Trends in Soviet pack design can follow the example to the artist-designer Leonid Chelnokov. He worked in this field for 43 years from 1946 to 1989 on confectionery factory "Red October". His work reflects the political system of the late twentieth century,society history of that period. Every ctiizen of former ussr is remember Chelenkov work since childhood. The works he create, replicated on the packaging of many kinds of confectionery,and various national importance - from the chamber to the legendary Kremlin. In all works he continue the tradition of pictures of early twentieth century. Work on establishment of confectionery products need the ability to use a wide range of different kinds of images - from vintage prints to reportage photography. He carefully studied the state symbols of different countries, faces of famous people of past and present time, architectural monuments, famous paintings. During the 40's, the war did not contribute to the development of art packaging,its not enough even the most necessary.
