Abstract

Abstract F-concentration dependence of phonon spectra for Nd 2CuO 4−xF x has been measured by Raman scattering at room temperature. With increasing x, the energy of the E g mode at about 480 cm −1 decreases, while those of the A 1g and B 1g modes at 220 and 330 cm −1 are almost constant. The result concludes that the doped F ion is substituted to the oxygen position in the RO layers. The symmetry-forbidden mode, observed in the Ce-doped system at about 600 cm −1, has not been observed for Nd 2CuO 4−xF x.
