Abstract

Summary A calculation is given of the correction to be applied to the viscosity as determined by oscillating disc apparatus which allows for the inertia and viscosity of the exterior fluid previously neglected. It is found that for large disc separations the correction may be large, while for small separations it is usually negligible.
