Abstract

Abstract Hydrogen embrittlement behaviour of Co 65Fe 5Mo 2Si 16B 12 amorphous alloy was studied at room temperature under various conditions. Hydrogen charging was carried out in 1.0 N H 2SO 4 solution at a current density of 80 mA/cm 2 and the susceptibility of hydrogen embrittlement determined by tensile test at a strain rate of 1.67 × 10 −5/ s. The fracture stress of the amorphous alloy decreased significantly on hydrogen charging but recovered on ageing at room temperature.
