Abstract

Abstract Three theoretical descriptions that yield submicroscopical track profiles corresponding to normal incidence ions, using a computer program, are proposed. The chemical attack velocity was assumed to vary with the position on the incidence axis ( x) of the ion and the perpendicular distance measured on the y axis. The program can simulate profiles for cases in which there are changes in the physical damage dur to statistical changes or state changes in the incident ion changes. Moreover, experimental track profiles are shown.
