Abstract

Abstract A rapid, sensitive, colorimetric method for analysis of mercury, particularly in biologic materials, has been presented. Dithizone in CHCl 3 reacts with mercury at pH 1 (only gold palladium and platinum would interfere) to form a yellow complex Which may be analyzed by the “mixed color method” in the spectrophotometer, or may he used as the basis for direct titration of the mercury.
