Abstract

Abstract The syntheses of some trideuterated methyl branched fatty acids, suitable for NMR-studies in membranes, are described by successive reductions of an ester carbonyl group. Two methods were found to prepare 2-alkyl-ω-hydroxy carboxylic acids which are suitable intermediates for the syntheses of the title compounds.
