Abstract

Reading a novel is something interesting. It can bring pleasure and curiosity inreading it. When the writer read this novel, she likes it, because this is truly oneof the finest novel of the century. The novel concern an adulterous affair inEngland during World War II between Maurice Bendrix and Sarah Miles,Henry is Sarah Husband and they lived as the neighbor in London, there arelove and hate, faithfulness and the presence of divine in human lives. In thisscientific research paper, the writer is interesting in discussing about MauriceBendrixs character. Maurice Bendrix is the main character; he is a jealousyman and full of hatred to Sarah Miles. Their affair is complicated relationshipsthat happen at that time during the World War II. By using a psychologicalapproach the writer is expected to find out more about the character of MauriceBendrix in this novel.
