Abstract

Abstract Parity-violating observables for the process e − + 12 C → e − + 12 C ∗ → e − + 12 C + γ beams are studied in a general framework of weak-electromagnetic interference. The circular polarization of gammas has values of (2–3) × 10 −5 for the standard parameters, in a kinematically interesting region. Useful relations among these observables and the asymmetry for polarized electrons are developed. We discuss the possibilities of using these quantities to put limits on the parameters of alternative models.
