Abstract

Abstract 23Na nuclear relaxation shows the mixed nature of a NaDBS sample. A binary model turns out to represent the behavior of the mixture of similar components. The composition and the CMCs obtained from the NMR data are in accord with the conductometrically determined micelle formation boundary of NaDBS/PS–latex dispersions. A theoretical analysis is presented to show that some published relations for mixed nonionics should hold as a first approximation for mixtures of similar ionics.
