Abstract

Abstract In this paper, Co 2+-doped LiAl 5O 8 nanocrystals were prepared via a citrate sol–gel method. The as-prepared LiAl 5O 8 nanocrystals appear to be single cubical crystalline phase with an average diameter of 15–30 nm. The absorption spectrum of doped Co 2+ ions in the near-infrared region exhibits a broad absorption band centered at 1400 nm.
