Abstract

Abstract The value of monocyte/macrophage activity as a prognostic factor in patients with non–Q-wave myocardial infarction (NQMI) has not yet been investigated. Moreover, scarce data are available on the long-term predictive value of markers of inflammation in patients who experience a NQMI. The present study aimed to determine the predictive value of neopterin, alone and in relation to levels of C-reactive protein, on the recurrence of major clinical cardiovascular events in patients who had a NQMI.
