Abstract

Pancreatic disease commonly involves the distal common bile duct. Pancreatic adenocarcinoma and chronic pancreatitis are the commonest pancreatic processes resulting in a bile duct stricture. Management of distal common bile duct strictures requires proper diagnosis and appropriate use of both endoscopy and surgery. This article reviews the differential diagnosis and endoscopic managment of biliary strictures in pancreatic disease.
