Abstract

Christian Bruel condemns the poverty and lack of daring with which children's imagination is encouraged during schooling. He examines a number of examples ; the use of words and pictures in cartoon albums, the production and the reading of texts. In Christian Bruel's view a balance is needed between, on the one hand, a genuine pedagogy of the imagination and the importance of workings of cultural productions, so that children and adults may enjoy their full rights.
