Abstract

Abstract Using the shallow-water equations a numerical solution is obtained of the problem of the propagation of a weak solitary wave, the decrease of the drop in height in the liquid initially at rest, which is situated in a plane bounded basin, and also of the problem of the motion of the liquid in an instantaneously inclined bounded basin. The basis of the numerical scheme is the SHASTA method, previously used to solve the gas-dynamic equations.
