Abstract

Abstract Vapor-liquid equilibrium has been determined for four binary hydrocarbon mixtures: cyclohexane + benzene, + m-xylene, + n-heptane, and + octene-1. Isothermal variation of the saturation pressure with liquid-phase composition was determined experimentally in a static apparatus over the entire composition range. The composition of the equilibrium vapor phase is obtained by calculation with Barker's method using the Redlich-Kister equation for the activity coefficients.
