Abstract

Abstract The static magnetic properties of sputter-deposited amorphous Gd 20Y 30Ag 50 have been studied. Above 60 K, the susceptibility follows a Curie-Weiss law, but deviates considerably from it at lower temperatures; a maximum value of the low field d.c. susceptibility occurs at 12.8 K; the variation of the susceptibility is not reversible below 17 K. These properties are characteristic of a disordered magnetic system (spin-glass-like).
