Abstract

Abstract We calculate the exact expressions valid for a new kind of superposition of two renewal processes, the first obtained by means of an ordinary poissonian distribution and the other one with a train of periodic pulses at a given frequency. The final process can be realized by means of two identical processing devices which introduce a finite width τ of non-extended type on the pulses of both trains which are superimposed afterwards. In this way a sequence of extended and non-extended pulses is accomplished, which has been studied theoretically. A possible application is shown.
