Abstract

Abstract A deconvolution procedure for the correction of distribution functions of liquids and amorphous solids is presented which involves a suitable integration window, the Lanczos window. The method is a simplification of the Mencik method and it is very appropriate for the case of relatively sharp peaks on a smooth background. As compared with the Warren method, the proposed procedure is advantageous because the final outcome is less affected by the spurious features. Two examples are given to illustrate the viability of the procedure.
