Abstract

Résumé A single stage separated K + beam of momentum between 0.7 to 1.3 GeV/ c was constructed around the proton synchrotron Saturne at Saclay. The paper describes the parameters of the beam and the separation obtained. The main emphasis was compactness of beam and intensity requirement for bubble chamber experiments. For a circulating beam of 4 × 10 10 proton per pulse, the intensity obtained was 2 K-mesons for 10–12 particles at the vertical mass slit for a total Δp p = 5% and a final image of 5 × 50 mm 2.
