Abstract

Abstract A case is presented in which a submerged deciduous second mandibular molar had wide-ranging effects on the adjacent teeth, on the successional tooth, and on the occlusion. In the step-by-step treatment of the condition, several biologic phenomena are demonstrated which support the results of known research. Others lead to speculation regarding the root configuration of teeth growing in confined circumstances.
