Abstract

Abstract Temperature and density dependence of dynamical quark masses, quark condensates and s̄s content in the nucleons are studied within the framework of the SU(3) Nambu-Jona-Lasinio model with instanton effects. In order to treat zero and nonzero temperature and/or density systems in a unified way, the thermo field dynamics (a real-time formalism) is applied to this model as a useful theoretical framework. We found two characteristic features in the temperature region 150–200 MeV: Dynamical masses of u and d quarks decrease rapidly (restoration of the chiral symmetry), and the s̄s content in the nucleons has a peak.
