Abstract

Abstract Ultraviolet irradiation of the acyl derivatives RCOFe(CO) 2C 5H 5 (R = CF 3. C 2F 5, C 3F 7, CH 3, C 6H 5, and CH 2CH in benzene, hexane or tetrahydrofan solution produces the corresponding alkyl derivatives RFe(CO) 2C 5H 5. Heating the acyl derivatives RCOMo(CO) 3C 5H 5 (R = CF 3 or C 3F 7) to ∼120° produces the corresponding alkyl derivatives RMo(CO) 3C 5H 5. The new compounds (CF 2) 3[Mo(CO) 3C 5H 5] 2, (CF 2) 3[Fe(CO) 2C 5H 5] 2 and RCOW(CO) 3C 5H 5 (R = CF 3, C 3F 7, and CH 2CH) are also described.
