Abstract

Abstract Solubilities of O in Pd have been measured by exposing Pd to O 2 (g) at elevated temperatures, 1073–1223 K, for sufficient times to obtain equilibrium. The amounts of dissolved O are determined from the extent of subsequent trapping of H by O (323 K). The solubility enthalpy is −49 ± 4 kJ/mol 1 2 O 2.
