Abstract

Abstract Using the velocity profiles, based on the concentric spheres free surface model and a standard 4th polynomial Karman—Pohlhausen method in Part 1, the diffusion equation was solved numerically at higher Reynolds numbers. The mass transfer rate for multi-solid particle systems so computed agreed with the exprerimental data of single solid spheres, and packed and fluidized beds at higher Reynolds numbers.
