Abstract

Abstract US energy policy is directed toward providing adequate supplies of clean, affordable energy in support of long-term economic growth and strategic security. To provide a cohesive framework for US policy, we are developing a national energy strategy. It will forecast energy meeting those needs, and recommended choices. To encourage more open trade in energy supplies and services, we are undertaking an export initiative. It seeks to ensure fair competition in world markets, promote global cooperation and stability through energy trade, and hasten the transfer of technology beneficial to all nations within the world community.
