Summary 1. A Recovery Nursery to handle problems of the term infant in distress immediately after delivery has proved its value to a large maternity hospital. This nursery has been used in 13.8 per cent of term infants delivered over a period of seven and one-half months. 2. It has been found that the Recovery Nursery can function together with a Premature Nursery and the same plant can contain both. 3. The combination of the physical plant of the Premature Nursery and a Recovery Nursery will provide enough population to stabilize the nursing personnel and fill the hospital space that may be available in the small or large hospital that could not be filled adequately by either a Premature Nursery or a Recovery Nursery alone.
