Abstract

Abstract Some clinical uses of starch gel electrophoresis have been discussed as well as the incidence of the various Smithies' groups in the normal population. In chronic leukaemia there is an undue preponderance of Group I. This is particularly apparent in relation to chronic lymphatic leukaemia and indicates the possibility that there is some connection between the development of this disease and the genotype.
