Abstract

Abstract A molecular adduct of nitratotriphenyltin with triphenylarsine oxide [Sn(C 6H 5) 3(NO 3){(C 6H 5) 3AsO}] has been synthesized and its IR spectroscopic properties and X-ray crytal structure are reported. Crystals are orthorhombic ( P2 12 12 1) with unit-cell dimensions: a 17.35(1), b 19.30(2), c 9.56(1) », Z 4. The structure has been solved from 2070 independent diffractometer data and refined anisotropically by block-diagonal least-squares methods to the conventional R factor 3.6%. The coordination about tin is trigonal bipyramidal with the phenyl rings in equatorial and oxygenated ligands in axial positions.
