Abstract

Abstract The dynamic orientation behavior of acicular magnetic particles is calculated by a magnetic moment equation for the orientation process of tape manufacturing by an opposed-poles orientation magnet. The results indicated that acicular magnetic particles are rotated clockwise and counter clockwise depending on whether H z is positive or negative. The fixed angle of θ is in the range 0 < θ < φ/2 for h z > 0 and φ/2 < θ < φ for H z < 0.
